I Write Music For People

about

Well hello there! Thanks for dropping by, I suppose I should tell you a little about myself, shouldn’t I?
These days I’m primarily known as a songwriter, composer and producer. I write for myself and for others and generally have a lovely time doing so!

I’ve produced music for many UK theatre productions, written commissioned theme tunes for the likes of ITV & Channel 4 in the UK, and my tracks have been used by global brands such as McDonalds, Hewlett Packard, IMAX, Emirates and many more besides.

As a performer I have played hundreds of gigs, mostly with my band The Mighty Handful, including highlights such as performing at The Royal Albert Hall and playing in front of 15,000 people at the home of Chelsea Football (Soccer!) Club. We’ve spent *cough* twenty plus years playing together and are the creators of the prog-rock behemoth ‘Still Sitting In Danny’s Car’.

I live on a boat in Brentford where I can be found most days working in my studio – it’s not quite as grand as David Gilmour’s little place just downstream of us, but it’s geared up for song-writing and production of both music and video and is generally very groovy indeed.

As a creative professional my career has always centred around music, and I have been fortunate enough to work on some truly awesome projects, including a couple of years as channel controller for 2 music TV channels, and four years as the Music Producer on Strictly Come Dancing. I’ve animated music videos for the likes of Morcheeba, filmed live gigs in Belgium and Russia, and I’ve interviewed everyone from Christina Aguilera to Mark Ronson, and from Ja Rule to My Chemical Romance.

All of which is terrific fun, as you would expect!

In the end, it all comes down to the music. That rush I get from seeing something I’ve created take on a life of its own out in the big bad world? That’s the stuff that my dreams are made of.
